We held a meeting today with the Divisional Officer (DO) at AGO, Tholpuram, to address an important issue affecting our coconut plantation. Recently, Saturday 27th July 2025 seven goats belonging to local owners had strayed into the plantation, causing concern for our crops.
After capturing the goats, it was agreed that a fine of Rs. 3,000 per goat would be charged before their release. During the discussion, Ravi spoke with Mr. V. Kulaganathan, and together they decided that the fine money could be put to good use as a community donation.
It was happily agreed that the funds collected would be used to purchase young polybag coconut trees, which will then be donated to needy families in the area. This initiative will not only help those in need but also encourage more people to plant and care for coconut trees, strengthening our community’s commitment to sustainable agriculture.
The DO also introduced us to Jadam, an organic farming methodolgy developed by a Korean company. As we continue to maintain our farm organically, exploring natural and eco-friendly options like Jadam will help us further our mission of healthy, sustainable farming.
We thank everyone involved for their cooperation and support. Together, we are turning challenges into opportunities for growth and community benefit.
