Electricity Issue at Seagull

On Wednesday, 20th August 2025, we went and spoke to the Manager of Seagull, Mr. Thavindu, about our electricity problem. He confirmed that the CEB had already visited and found no issue with the supply to the building, meaning the fault was internal. He had arranged for an electrician to attend that morning.

The electrician arrived at the flat at 9:00 am. After checking, he determined that there was no supply in phase 3 to the flat. He then investigated in the communal areas, and his boss also came down to assess. The problem was identified as a short in the cable running from the meter to the flat fuse box.

As a temporary measure, the phase 3 connections were bypassed and attached to phase 2, thereby ensuring electricity supply to the whole flat. The manager will keep us updated on progress regarding fixing the actual problem in the communal area.

Our flat key was left with security to enable access to the flat in our absence if needed. In addition, the electrician replaced the AC round-pin plug and base with a square-pin type at a cost of 1,500.

Summary: Electricity issue at Seagull on 20th August 2025 traced to short in cable from meter to fuse box. Temporary bypass arranged; AC plug replaced at cost of 1,500. Awaiting permanent repair.
