ICT Competition – St. John’s College, Jaffna
Thursday, 28th August 2025, morning
On Thursday, 28th August 2025, we visited the ICT competition being held at St. John’s College, Jaffna, for the “ICT for All” initiative in the Jaffna area. Students from various schools and colleges had been selected to participate and showcase their projects.
The competition featured projects in the form of robotics, mobile and web applications, and other ICT-based solutions. Participants presented their work across multiple categories, including education, environment, health, and more. The event provided a platform for young innovators to demonstrate their creativity, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
During the visit, we met with the Year 10 students we had first met earlier in the week at the World Entrepreneurship Days and also connected with some students from Victoria College who had been selected to participate. It was a very interesting morning, engaging with these young people and seeing and listening to their talent.
We left the event with thoughts on how we could help some of these talented young individuals to progress and prosper, exploring opportunities to support and nurture their skills further.
