Coconut and Lime Plant Donation at DS Chankanai Office
On Friday, 26th September 2025, the Lions Club of Vaddukoddai continued its ongoing green and community support initiative by donating a fresh batch of coconut and lime plants to needy families at the DS Chankanai Office. These plants were given to individuals carefully identified as having both the interest and capacity to nurture them, promoting sustainable home cultivation, self-reliance, and long-term benefits for their households.
The program was thoughtfully organized by GS Sivaruban, who personally reached out to families he felt would most benefit from receiving these plants. His careful selection ensured that the support would make a lasting impact, helping households not only grow their own food but also strengthen their livelihoods and contribute positively to the local environment.
The event was graced by the presence of 1st Vice District Governor, Club Secretary Lion Nanthan, Lion Ravisangar, and Lion Lady Anita, representing the Lions Club of Vaddukoddai. A representative of the Pullar Trust also attended, emphasizing the spirit of partnership and community collaboration.
This meaningful initiative reflects the Club’s continuing commitment to environmental sustainability, food security, and service to the community, highlighting the importance of supporting families while fostering care for nature and community wellbeing.
