Lions Club District 306 D12 – First Orientation for the Year 2025–2026

The Lions Club District 306 D12 held its first Orientation for the Lions year 2025–2026 at the Sarvodaya Hall in Jaffna. The event commenced at 4.00pm and was attended by a good number of prospective members eager to learn more about the movement and its mission.
Lion Piratheas led the session with an engaging presentation, supported by slides, explaining the history of Lions Clubs International, the Lions Clubs International Foundation, and the overarching purposes of the organisation. The orientation provided a comprehensive overview, allowing attendees to gain clarity on the vision, objectives, and community service initiatives that Lions are committed to.
The primary focus of the event was recruitment, and by its conclusion, there was strong interest expressed by several participants. Notably, eight ladies confirmed their willingness to join as members, marking a positive step forward for the expansion and inclusivity of the Lions movement in the district.
The event concluded with short eats and tea served at approximately 6.00pm, providing an opportunity for informal interaction and fellowship among attendees.
