A Day of Rabies Awareness: Lions Club of Vaddukoddai Educates Students at Moolai SPV School

The Lions Club of Vaddukoddai, together with District 306 D12, began a day dedicated to public health education at Moolai S.P.V. School, where the Rabies Awareness Program was officially kicked off. This important initiative was generously sponsored by Lion Ravisangar, reflecting the Lions’ commitment to supporting community health and education. The program aims to provide students with vital knowledge about rabies—a preventable yet potentially deadly disease—and to equip them with practical steps to protect themselves, their families, and their communities.
During the session, students were guided through an engaging program that highlighted the key symptoms of rabies in animals, how to recognize unusual behaviour in dogs, and the immediate precautions to take if exposure is suspected. Practical advice included the importance of washing wounds thoroughly, seeking timely medical attention, and understanding how rabies can spread.
