Lions Carnival Visit – Nallur
Sunday, 24th August 2025 – Sangiliyan Poonga, Nallur, Jaffna
After the Installation of Office Bearers Ceremony in Kilinochchi, Uthayasurian Anna, Lion Indra, Lion Ravisangar, and Lion Anita went directly to the Lions Carnival held at Sangiliyan Poonga, Nallur, Jaffna, to show their support for the event. The carnival was organised to raise funds for the new eye hospital being established in the area through the efforts of District 306 D12 Lions Clubs.
The event had commenced on 20th August 2025 and was scheduled to close on 25th August 2025. It was a ticketed event, especially geared towards families with children. Various small food stalls and rides, including swings, a roller coaster, inflatables, and a spinning funfair ride, were set up for visitors. Even though it was late evening and nearing closing time, many people were still enjoying the carnival.
During the visit, we met other Lions from various clubs who were also helping at the event and showing their support. Governor Dr. Pathmanathan was present, and the highlight of the evening was receiving the new governor pin badges, which he personally pinned on all the Lions present at that time.
Summary: Visited the Lions Carnival at Sangiliyan Poonga, Nallur, Jaffna, on Sunday, 24th August 2025, after the Kilinochchi ceremony to support the fundraising event for the new eye hospital. Met Lions from other clubs and received new governor pin badges from Governor Dr. Pathmanathan.
