Following a call on 1st August 2025, we met with HNB Deputy Manager, Mr Banoi, at 10:40 a.m. to discuss the remaining funds in Amma’s bank accounts. He informed us that Amma had two accounts — a fixed deposit account and a savings account — both of which needed to be closed after transferring the balances.
Mr Banoi guided us through completing the required form, which must be certified by a Justice of the Peace or a lawyer to confirm all details are true and correct. I had already prepared copies of the necessary documents, including the death certificates of both parents, their marriage certificate, Amma’s IC copy, Ravi’s IC copy, passport copy, and birth certificate.
We were also informed that Mythily would need to provide a lawyer-certified letter of consent stating she had no interest in the funds and authorising Ravi to receive the full amount. Once all the paperwork is ready, we will submit it to Mr Banoi, who will then proceed with transferring the funds — Rs. 50,000 from the fixed deposit and Rs. 28,000 from the savings account, totalling Rs. 78,000 — to Ravi’s HNB account. The accounts can then be closed.
